Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
