British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
This update on his health comes as the sports world offered condolences for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
